09 — Onboarding (Sales Call + Creator Onboarding)
Core idea
The outreach call is a combined sales/onboarding call: close creators by asking questions and making them realize their own pain, never by pitching hard. After signing, the onboarding phase determines whether the creator stays for years — lead with speed, set clear expectations/standards, and eliminate friction before it becomes a pattern.
Key concepts/frameworks
- Trust is the only close-killer — creators don't sign because they don't trust you personally or don't trust your ability to deliver results.
- 6-phase sales call structure: Rapport (5–10 min) → Data gathering (10–15) → Find & amplify pain (5–10) → Present service (10) → Handle objections (5–10) → Close & next steps (5).
- Creator talks 80% of the time; ask open questions, not yes/no ("How do you currently handle chatting?" not "Do you have chatters?").
- Amplify pain, don't tell — quantify and emotionalize ("You chat 2h making $5K; 24/7 would be $50K — you're missing $45K/mo. How does that make you feel?"). Give her aha-moments; telling doesn't work.
- Put a spin on everything — frame weaknesses as strengths ("We don't do dating apps because we care about creator safety and reputation").
- Call out indecision — "I'll think about it" = doesn't trust you. Aim for "hell yeah or hell no."
- Book a meeting from a meeting — never send the contract without scheduling the next call.
- 6 onboarding goals: work with speed (momentum), build the work habit (not perfect content), set clear expectations, eliminate problems before they appear, communicate a vision/roadmap, find her boundaries immediately.
- Lead by example — if you reply in 6 hours you can't demand 1-hour replies.
Action items
- Prep 10 minutes before each call: scan her Instagram for common ground for small talk.
- Open the call with the agenda line (see scripts), then interrogate her situation; take notes.
- Quantify every pain point with numbers, then ask "How does that make you feel?" / "How long has this been going on?" / "How long have you tried to fix it?"
- Record your sales calls; review whether you asked questions out of genuine interest vs. to sell.
- Write down every objection you couldn't answer; after the call, script better replies.
- Close by booking the next call (e.g., Monday) to sign the contract — give exact next steps.
- After signing: immediately send the first simple feed-post content list; prioritize habit/consistency over content quality.
- On the first onboarding call, establish: boundaries/no-gos (both sides), communication standards script, revenue expectations (month 1 = foundations, not $100K).
- Present a month-by-month vision/roadmap on a call with a slide deck.
- Watch for friction early (e.g., she takes 6 hours to record one feed post) — call it out and fix it together immediately.
SOPs/scripts/templates
- Agenda line: "My goal for this call is to find out more about your situation and see if there's mutual fit. Cool if I ask you a couple of questions about your OnlyFans?"
- Data-gathering questions: How long have you been doing this? What are your numbers? What do you struggle with? How do you manage everything? What would you like to improve?
- Transition to pitch: "Based on what you've told me, I do see a fit. Let me quickly run you through how we work." Then keep it short, no bragging; check in: "Does that sound helpful? What do you think so far?"
- Indecision call-out: "That doesn't sound very convinced. What's the issue?" / "Our goal is either a hell yeah or a hell no."
- Close: "Next steps: I'll send the contract, read through it, let's schedule another call Monday to sign and start onboarding. Sound good?"
- Setting standards script (first onboarding call): "For us it's very important that there's communication. We all have bad days… If something personal comes up, you don't even need to tell us what it is. But PLEASE give us a heads up: 'Hey, I'm not going to finish content today, personal stuff going on.' We won't judge. But if we have to constantly ask 'Where's the content?', we can't work like that. As long as you communicate, we're cool. Deal?"
- Vision roadmap: Month 1: Foundations (IG funnel, content plan, get comfortable recording). Month 2: Systems (hire chatters, optimize posting). Month 3: Scaling (launch ads, test Reddit). Months 4–6: Growth, aim $20K+/mo.
- First-week checklist: contract signed; onboarding call done; expectations & boundaries clarified; vision presented; communication standards set; first content list sent; first content batch recorded; daily check-ins established.
Tools
- Google Meet or Zoom — sales/onboarding calls.
- Call recording — self-review of question quality.
- Instagram — pre-call research; primary traffic channel post-onboarding.
- Presentation/slide deck — vision roadmap call.
Metrics/KPIs
- Creator should talk 80% of the call.
- Phase timings: 5–10 / 10–15 / 5–10 / 10 / 5–10 / 5 min.
- Pain quantification example: 2h/day chatting = $5K → 24/7 ≈ $50K/mo → $45K/mo left on the table.
- Agency cut discussed: 50% of revenue (expect the objection).
- Roadmap target: $20K+/month by months 4–6.
- Speed benchmark: never take 2 weeks to set up her account; reply faster than you expect her to reply.
