09 — How to Create a Creator Concept, Part 2
Core idea
A live coaching call continuing creator-concept work: how to package reel instructions for the creator, how to track reel performance without overcomplicating it, how to train creators on lighting/setup, and how to keep the research FYP feeding winning patterns. Guiding rule: find near-perfect proven videos and upgrade them slightly — never reinvent the wheel.
Key concepts/frameworks
- Upgrade, don't change — take a proven video and improve visuals/hook slightly; turning a "jumping/I'm from Toronto" video into a transition video is recreating the wheel.
- LVU score — rate videos on Look, Value (humor, emotion), USP. A reel with decent look but zero value/USP is weak.
- Retard-maxing research — "monkey see, monkey copy, monkey add": scroll fast, turn brain off; if a video doesn't hook you while scrolling fast, it's shit.
- Ease of recreation filter — only take low-hanging-fruit videos that are close to perfectly copyable; skip anything needing props/partners/language you can't match. Do complex pattern-mixing only after patterns are proven for that creator.
- Comment analysis — read comments to see who the video targets (men vs. girls vs. low-value audiences); girls-only comments = wrong audience; check for "Indian check" (low-value audience signals, emojis).
- Uniqueness > everything — only post highlights/stories/feed posts if genuinely unique; accounts are disposable, good content can go viral in a day.
- Cross-market adaptation — take ideas from other niches/languages (e.g. Spanish thirst traps) and translate/Americanize them for your creator.
Action items
- Build a shoot doc for the creator covering every reel: walk, outfit, background, facial features; record a Loom explaining it, feed it to Claude to write it up cleanly, send to creator AND photographer before the shoot.
- Send creators a simple instruction list per reel: inspiration link + short explanation + notes on cuts/text placement. The more copyable, the better.
- Review overperforming videos once a week manually; don't build complex tracking systems.
- Train creators on lighting/setup via: (a) onboarding video course (1–2 hrs), (b) one live Zoom call during her setup, or (c) delegate to her videographer. Use the "Video Basics" SOP.
- Check audience targeting in comments on every candidate video before copying.
- When the FYP degrades: leave Instagram for a bit, come back, retrain it by liking from curated lists (e.g. Oliver's daily OF-girl reels list) and checking who similar creators follow.
- Use Google Gemini to scout shoot locations near the creator and plan shoots with the photographer (esp. for creators who won't film in public).
- Check phone/IP fraud score on ipqualityscore.com before committing to a setup location.
- Run a mixed phone strategy: cloud phones + 1–2 physical phones in person.
SOPs/scripts/templates
- Creator instruction list (per reel): inspiration link → explanation → placement notes (cuts, text-on-screen). Keep it "really really simple"; add a small explainer video for new creators.
- "Video Basics" SOP — step-by-step basic light setup guide; sent at onboarding; can be turned into a Loom walkthrough for each creator.
- Shoot planning doc template: per reel specify walk / outfit / background / facial expressions; polish with Claude; distribute to model + photographer.
Tools
- Claude ("claw") — turn rough Loom/doc notes into polished creator instructions.
- Loom — record walkthroughs of reel plans and lighting setup.
- Creathor CRM ("creator here") — social media tracking: new views gained per week per account; IG tracking better attribution/fewer outages than other trackers; free tier usable for tracking only (contact Arthur for access). Cannot log hooks/outfits/CTAs.
- Inflow — agency's main platform (student uses it instead of Creathor).
- Ali Remote / iRemote — cloud/remote phone farms; scalable but banned phones get reused; Ali Remote (Romania) had ~30% outage time, reason for switching away.
- ipqualityscore.com — check IP fraud score (e.g. Bali IP concern).
- Zoom / Google Meet — live setup/training calls with creators.
- Google Gemini — location scouting for shoots.
- Oliver's daily OF-girl reels list — curated winning reels to retrain FYP and learn what good content looks like.
Metrics/KPIs
- Track per reel: hook, background, outfit, text on screen, CTA + weekly new views per account.
- 2-day phone warmup process (used by a $1M/month agency's US-based setup guy with bulk-bought phones).
- Ali Remote: ~30% downtime — unacceptable for posters.
- Good content benchmark: viral in a day = hundreds of new subs in a day.
- Example: 500K views with poor conversion = wrong-audience video (depth beats raw views).
- Backend alone can repay the program cost in ~2 weeks (student anecdote).
