FC #1: Trial Reels & Sub-Farming System
Core idea
Take reels that already went viral, grab the raw file, change exactly one variable (text, hook, clip, or topic), and re-upload as an Instagram trial reel — then iterate on winners the same day. This generates new paid subs without waiting for the creator to produce new content, and builds a data-driven pattern library. Trial reels are only shown to non-followers, so there's zero risk of burning the existing audience.
Key concepts/frameworks
- Trial reels: Instagram feature showing content to non-followers only; not all accounts have it (needs ~200 followers); free testing ground.
- Sub-farming session: time-boxed (30–45 min) self-directed workflow, 2–3 sessions/day, 3 trial reels per session.
- Wave system: Wave 1 (morning) = find viral reel, diagnose viral reason, swap one element, upload. Wave 2 (afternoon/evening) = review, take overperformer, change a different variable, re-upload. Wave 3 (next day, optional) = confirm sustained performance, document winning combo, add to pattern library.
- One-variable rule: never change two things at once or the split-test data is useless.
- Viral reason diagnosis: was it the text, hook (first 1–2s), clip/visual, or topic? Keep what drove virality, swap everything else. Test: "if I removed X, would it still work?"
- Two forces balance: preserve virality (don't destroy what made it work) vs. maintain authenticity (every change must fit the marketing concept/creator vibe).
- Multi-account hits > single-account spikes when picking source videos.
- Track A (creator has patterns): optimize what works. Track B (no patterns): explore — combine creator's best visuals with target-creator hooks/texts; expect 3–4 rounds before discovery.
- Target creator list: 10–20 creators matching the creator's attributes (not just OF creators — scope out); source of replacement hooks/texts/clips.
Action items
- [ ] Check which accounts have the trial reel function; prioritize those.
- [ ] Finalize marketing concept + build target creator list (10–20 creators) per account; maintain a research account tracking their overperformers.
- [ ] Collect raw files (no text overlay, no edits) from every active creator proactively; store locally (Google Drive may compress); creators send via Telegram file.
- [ ] Run first sub-farming session today: filter analytics for viral reels → diagnose viral reason → pull raw file → apply ONE change → upload as trial reel.
- [ ] Afternoon: review trial performance, iterate winner with a different variable, re-upload.
- [ ] Next day: document winning combo (hook + text + clip + visual structure) into pattern library; feed into regular production list.
- [ ] Document failures too; if nothing works after rounds, pivot target creators/angles (or brainstorm with Claude per the "fix bad audience" SOP).
- [ ] Test on smaller/less important accounts first before big accounts.
SOPs/scripts/templates
- Session time budget: find viral videos 5 min → diagnose/prep 10 min → create + upload 15 min → document 5 min = 35 min total; over 45 min = prep isn't tight.
- Variable swap rules: text went viral → keep visual structure + hook, swap text. Hook viral → keep hook, change text/topic. Clip viral → keep clip, change text/hook. Topic viral → keep topic, change clip + text.
- Walkthrough example: Shirt-Pull Hook video viral on 3 accounts → text diagnosed as driver → keep hook + clip, swap text from target creator list (Wave 1) → overperforms → swap end clip, keep new text (Wave 2) → pattern: "Shirt-Pull Hook + Emotional Text + [Flexible Clip]".
- Completion checklist: trial function checked; concept + target list ready; raw files collected; Wave 1 done (max 4–5 trials/account, non-sexual); Wave 2 iteration done; wins/losses logged; patterns in library; findings fed to production list.
- Common mistakes: multiple variables at once; vmake.ai as default; mixing content across accounts; >4–5 trials/day or sexual trials; >45 min sessions; off-concept virality chasing; not documenting; skipping Wave 2.
Tools
- Instagram Trial Reels — non-follower testing surface.
- Creator Hero (or equivalent analytics) — track views/reach/engagement, filter viral reels.
- Chrome extension (shared in group) — sort reels by views/comments to find overperformers.
- vmake.ai — text-overlay removal fallback; significantly higher ban risk, last resort only.
- Telegram — creators send raw video files (avoids compression).
- Claude — brainstorming new angles when nothing works.
Metrics/KPIs
- Case result: 214 paid subs (Mar 16–22, normal posting) → 927 subs (Mar 23–29, sub-farming) = 4.3x in one week.
- Cadence: 2–3 sessions/day, 3 trial reels per session; max 4–5 trial reels/day/account.
- Session length: 30–45 min (35 min target).
- Target creator list: 10–20 creators minimum (~10+).
- Trial reel eligibility: ~200 followers.
- Track B pattern discovery: typically 3–4 experimentation rounds.
- Selection signal: "X factor" overperformance (e.g., 5,000 views vs. 500-view baseline).
