FC #5: More New Subs with Simple Stupid Plays
Core idea
Two dead-simple traffic plays (one per creator aesthetic type) that recycle proven viral videos to grow subs — no reinvention. Results cited: two creators to 100+ subs/day, one from 10 to 60 subs/day from a single element of the system.
Key concepts/frameworks
- Bucket A — creator with strong existing aesthetic: Play #8 = take a past viral video, change ONLY the opener/hook, split test 3–6 different hooks. Freeze everything else (setting, body, CTA).
- Bucket B — creator with weak aesthetic: steal the visual of an inspiration creator's viral reel and recreate it 1:1, changing only the text overlay.
- Find the outlier: sort a creator's videos by views; if average is 1k views and one video has 5k (5x), that video is the winner to pull and rework. Age of the viral video doesn't matter — only that it outperformed.
- Go where virality already is — don't reinvent the wheel; copy formats that already went viral (example: small channel printing by making videos with Alex Hormozi's face).
- Hook bank: a Google Sheet tracking hooks per creator, sourced from inspiration creators.
- The 5 levers (apply to both plays, "more important than the plays"): 1. Aesthetic is the manager's/agency's responsibility, not the creator's — brief precisely, record demos, book Airbnbs/locations/shoots yourself. 2. Hook: visually scroll-stopping opener with movement; warm, inviting background and lighting (never cold/sterile "hospital" look). Best background = natural, real locations with activity/depth (street, nature). 3. Body of the reel: keep engagement high — text overlays popping in, quick cuts/edits, fast energy, short overall duration. Don't let the engagement curve sag mid-video. 4. Variance: for every winning concept, produce variants — different openers, different outfits in the same setting. More variance = more output; reposting identical videos raises ban risk. 5. Feedback: treat weak footage as a briefing/feedback problem, not a creator problem. Use the sandwich principle (good → critique → good), delivered via Loom videos or calls, not text.
- Trial reels (from FC #1): delete trial reels if the wrong audience shows up or if content is too visually sexual (farms reports → bans). Follow week-5 ban-safety setup practices; ~99.9% of banned accounts skipped 1–2 setup factors. Post at random, natural times — same-time daily posting looks suspicious to IG.
- Only ever one level of sexuality: visual OR sense-based, never both.
- Carousels: put a sound on them so they publish as reels; use region-matched sounds (e.g. German song for German audience). Reels still preferred over carousels; optionally run a separate carousel-only account.
- AI content: different ban-risk profile (SynthID detection) — use for B-roll, but prioritize recording large batches of raw footage and clipping it (e.g. 15 min selfie-style footage + text overlays → 100+ reels).
Action items
- [ ] Diagnose every creator into Bucket A (good aesthetic) or Bucket B (weak aesthetic).
- [ ] Bucket A: pull the 5x outlier video, write 3–6 new hooks from the hook bank, reshoot only the opener, split test.
- [ ] Bucket B: pick a viral reel from an inspiration creator, recreate it 1:1, change only the text.
- [ ] Build/maintain a hook bank Google Sheet per creator.
- [ ] Brief the manager (or yourself) specifically on what to do and why — not a Slack/WhatsApp one-liner.
- [ ] Run the play 7 days straight; post numbers in the group at end of week.
- [ ] Audit warm/inviting backgrounds; organize one shoot per week (book Airbnb/locations).
- [ ] Give creator feedback via Loom or call using the sandwich principle.
- [ ] Delete trial reels attracting wrong audience or too-sexual content.
- [ ] Vary posting times; keep posting natural.
- [ ] Batch-record raw footage (e.g. 15-min selfie sessions) and clip into many reels.
SOPs/scripts/templates
- Feedback sandwich script: "Your output has been truly amazing the last 10 days, but if I can be completely honest we're lacking a bit with XYZ and we want to do more of this and this. If we keep that output and you also do it in [good example], the videos will go much more viral and we'll get back to revenue X." Always via Loom/call, never text.
- Hook bank: Google Sheet tracking hooks per creator, compiled from inspiration creators.
Tools
- Chrome sorting/extractor tool — sort a creator's videos by views to find outliers.
- Google Sheets — hook bank.
- Loom — video feedback to creators.
- ComfyUI + Kling — best current AI content generation stack (B-roll/AI reels).
- Trial reels (Instagram feature) — risk-free reach testing.
- WhatsApp group / office hours — community Q&A.
Metrics/KPIs
- Proof points: 2 creators to 100+ subs/day; 1 creator from 10 → 60 subs/day (one element only).
- Outlier threshold: 5x average views (e.g. 5k vs 1k average).
- 3–6 hook variants per winning video.
- Run plays 7 days straight before judging.
- 99.9% of bans trace to 1–2 missed setup factors.
